I followed Tressie on Instagram. She was the beautiful model-girlfriend of an old friend of mine, Shayne, from North Battleford. I remember seeing her post with her new engagement ring, thinking that her photographer will be the luckiest person to capture her wedding. I had never met Tressie before, but you could tell from her posts that she was kind, sweet and gorgeous. Imagine how excited I was when I found a message from her asking about photographing her wedding. I may have done a happy dance…..

Shayne and I met back when we were teenagers. We had many similar friends in rodeo, and kept in touch through Facebook. Shayne is a renowned horse trainer, as Draggin’ S Horses. And it’s clear, he met his match with Tressie. These two are so obviously in love. They met at a horse show in Reno (naturally!) and in the last several years, have built a beautiful life together.

I loved that their wedding was at the rustic Eagle Ridge Ranch in Island Park, Idaho. Nestled in near Yellowstone National Park, this was the perfect setting for a family-oriented celebration amongst horses, nature…and even a roaming brown bear 🙂
