Tanya and Colton’s story:
“Colton was my neighbour in Ontario and we were best friends. We started dating in January of 2013. In June of 2014 we moved out to Alberta together. I’m originally from Ontario and Colton is originally from Quebec. We wanted a life change and that’s what brought us out here. Colton is a dedicated person in all aspects of his life, he constantly wants to better himself and is an extremely hard worker. He comes from a very good up bringing and is like no one I have been with before. We love to travel together, we’ve been to Quebec, Newfoundland, Cuba, Pennsylvania, Montana and all over Alberta. He’s always up for new adventures. I knew I loved him the moment I met him. Our engagement story is one of a kind. He and my mom had planned a birthday party for me in April. All of our family and close friends were there. They had hired a magician. I was involved in the last trick. I had been blindfolded and told to put my hand in a bag. Everything went quiet and when they took the blindfold off, Colton was on one knee with a ring. I was totally caught off guard. Of course I said yes immediately! What made it extra special was that it was my grandmothers ring. She passed away in 2013 and was my dearest friend. It meant a lot. Colton and I balance each other out in many ways, he’s very responsible as where I’m very flighty. He’s very logical as where I’m a dreamer. We have a lot of the same interests. We love love music and going to concerts, we can both be home bodies, we are very family oriented, we play together, we love to camp every weekend in the summer, he loves my cats which is very important lol. We’ve made a wonderful life for ourselves in Alberta.”
