Castle Mountain wedding

As I drove into Castle Mountain, I knew this was going to be a special wedding. I had never been to the area before and was blown away by the beauty of it. It feels like an area a little untouched by people and a community unto itself.

Christine and Mitch choose this location for their ceremony for a number of reasons….but first, let’s start at the beginning.

Four years ago on a freezing January day, Christine and Mitch met on the red chair lift at Castle Mountain Ski Resort. They were two of the only people on the mountain that day and were both skiing solo. To make a long story short, they rode the lift together and fell in love. They then moved to Chicago were Christine went to university to become a doctor and Mitch, to become an engineer. Along the way, adorable little Ayla came along and they were a family of three.

Six months ago they decided to make it official at a court house in Chicago and became husband and wife. However, they wanted to come back to Canada to celebrate the occasion with their closest family and friends, so hosted a wedding celebration at where else….but Castle Mountain! Christine’s family has a home there, so it was the perfect place to have the reception and intimate dinner.

Complete with smores, a BBQ, campfire and the best family and friends one could hope for, Christine and Mitch had the perfect day in the Rocky Mountains.

Being from the area myself, I am going to have to say that your pickings are slim.
There are a few …. but they are small.
Your best bet is The Rhodes Hall Castle in Atlanta, up by the The Temple and the old WSB, Peachtree Street, located just north of Pershing Point, in the vicinity of Brookwood.
