Sarah and Merle met on the side of a road while working in the power line industry. After a year of chance meetings and dinner invites from Merle, Sarah finally agreed to a date. They drank slurps and fell in love. Eventually that date led to a marriage proposal with walking with their dogs and a date was set for their country wedding near Nanton. One would assume an August wedding in Alberta would mean warmth and sunshine. What ended up transpiring was temperatures near zero, blinding rain all day and even snow in some areas. Thankfully their amazing wedding planner, Enriched Events, helped construct a beautiful indoor tent space that allowed the ceremony to take place inside away from the frigid weather.

I loved how their dogs, Jake and Crockett, helped walk Sarah down the aisle with custom designed floral collars and leashes made by Dahlia Floral Design in Calgary.

Because of the rain, I looked for beautiful photo spots that wold keep us warm and dry. We choose the Bomber Command Museum of Canada and Sentimental Journey Antiques for our backdrops.
