This is the third time I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the Millard Family over the years. Beau just gets cuter (and more grown-up) every time I see him. This time, I was able to meet baby Quinn for the first time. She’s the spitting image of her big brother. He just adores her – it’s so sweet. We met at Griffith Woods in Calgary for their family session.

I first met Liz when I sat at a desk across from her asking for a mortgage for the house we wanted to buy. I had no idea what she did after hours. Now I know. She sculpts her body. And, she looks amazing. We met at the K32 gym in Nanton (where she works out) with her trainer Leslie and a few other awesome women to photograph her work of art. I immediately regretted eating the cheesy, goodness of a supper that I had that night 🙂 Enjoy – and be inspired!

I was pretty excited to meet the Conlin Family. First of all, Jessica is a very active member of the Progressive Conservative Party and I couldn’t wait to engage in some political prodding back and forth. I’m a die-hard Wildrose Party supporter so Jessica and I have a few differences politically. Then, as we got into the session I found out that Pam studied Broadcast Journalism (just like me) and that Scott is a helicopter mechanic (my husband is a helicopter pilot). There was certainly no shortage of things to talk about. I love it when I get to photograph and meet a family like this. The time went by way too fast!

I met Teagan earlier this year at the Lethbridge Women’s Show. After chatting and hearing more about her family and her wedding – I was so excited when she contacted me to be her photographer for her May 2015 wedding. We had their engagement session last night and the weather was perfect…just perfect. The light was incredible, the location was beautiful and Teagan and Pat – they rocked it. I am so excited to be their Lethbridge wedding photographer.

I am so happy I met the Cameron family. I first met Kerry at the Lethbridge Women’s Show earlier this year. She commissioned me to photograph her beautiful daughter, Madison’s graduation photos.  With Madison now away on a basketball scholarship to Michigan, one son working on agriculture and the other still in school – they decided now was the time for family photos while everyone was in one spot. They just make me smile being with them!

I first met Karlee Conway (nee Stevens) several years ago when I was Communications Manager for Alberta Beef Producers and Karlee did communications for Alberta Milk (she’s on maternity leave at the moment). She was just such a fun and spunky person. Fast forward to her wedding three years ago and I was honoured to be asked to be her photographer. Then, last year I photographed her maternity photos. It’s been awesome to play this role in her growing family! Yesterday I met with her family near Millarville to take photos of the entire family. I loved catching up and getting to meet little Nixon.

When the bride comes from a family of seven children and the groom was in a rock ‘n roll band – you know their wedding is going to be awesome. Amanda and Curtis’ wedding was lively, full of families and kids with a real sense of having “their people” surrounding them on their wedding day. I first met with Amanda, Curtis and Curtis’ son Cruze for their engagement session in Nanton. Not only did I find out they were drop dead gorgeous to look at – but they were even better on the inside. It’s quite obvious to everyone around them that this is a true love….that they respect each other, love each other and have a little fun in between!

The ceremony was held at the beautiful St Albert the Great Catholic Parish in Calgary with the reception at the Delta Calgary South Hotel.

I first met Chantel and Ryan a couple of years ago. I’ve photographed their family and finally yesterday – photographed their wedding. For the first time in the four years I’ve been a wedding photographer, I had rain during portraits. We were expecting this and had an amazing indoor location lined up. The Saskatoon Farm is nothing short of amazing. Everywhere you turn, there is a nook and cranny that has something new. It even comes complete with cats, dogs, chickens and a turkey! After, the ceremony took place at the Crystal Ridge Golf Course in Okotoks. Thankfully the rain was finished by then.

It was a perfect day for a beautiful couple.

Headshots are a little like a visual resume. How you look, is sometimes how you are perceived at a first glance. Having a professional headshot is imperative for everyone that is in business. Lee came to me for a variety of head shots. He needed one that would work for his family’s cattle business, one for his Calgary corporate career, and one that was a little more casual for a LinkedIn profile photo.

I met Jennifer and Gerard at the Strathmore Bridal Fair nearly two years ago. They were newly engaged and excited about the wedding planning ahead of them. Jennifer is from Saskatchewan and Gerald, from Nova Scotia and they make Strathmore home together. They are both the sweetest people, that make the perfect couple. We did their engagement session in the winter and used a skating theme.

Fast forward to August, and their wedding finally arrived. Friends and family came from as far away as Poland to celebrate the couple. The dance floor was hopping all night – especially when the Rankin Family came on 🙂

I met Ally through friends when I lived in High River. She is just the sweetest person and I was so excited to hear that she had a baby girl last year. She is just as cute in person as she is on Facebook. Ally and her in-laws came to Nanton for a family session. They are such a fantastic group of people! Enjoy this small taste of their session.

When Jane contacted me to have family photos taken, I became a little nervous. This usually never happens – but Jane is a professional photographer as well. It feels different when you photograph someone else who is in the same industry….it’s a good kind of different though. You can check out Jane’s business (Jane Russell Phototography and Design) on her website.

But, like many photographers – we take photos of everyone but ourselves. It’s important to step out in front of the camera and be present in your own family photos. I was honoured that Jane asked me to help her do that.

I first met Matt and Melissa when I photographed their engagement session last year.  They are the couple that has been together forever and you just see a comfort, companionship and love that comes with years of being together.

Their wedding was beautiful. Melissa comes from a big family that is close, so many of her people played a big role in their wedding. I loved everything about their day from her dress to their decorations, speeches and the candy bar (which I believe should be mandatory at every wedding).

Tagen and Russ met by being Scrabble players……then Russ moved to Canada from England to be with Tagen. It’s such a sweet story that is fitting for such a great couple. I know Tagen’s family from calling Nanton home. Meeting Russ’ family that came over from the Queen’s country – you see how amazing his people are as well.

The wedding was so individual and unique. I loved everything from Tagen’s dress to the decor and food. It was the perfect day…for two pretty cool people!

Okanagan wedding photographers

Sierra and Spencer were married in the perfect location….at her family’s home on the water in Winfield, B.C. near Kelowna. It was gorgeous and we were so honoured to be their Okanagan wedding photographers.  This backdrop was amazing for two people who met several years ago in University and have traveled the world together.

Along with an incredible group of family and friends, Spencer and Sierra joined together with their personalized vows to become a new family.

Thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your day. It was nothing short of amazing. Thank you so much for asking us to be your Okanagan wedding photographers!
