I met Laura about 10 years ago. We were on a Calgary Stampede committee together to begin with. Our paths crossed again through our mutual work with Alberta Beef Producers, and then again after I became a full time photographer through various companies we both worked with. I cannot even begin to describe the respect and admiration I have for her; both professionally and personally. Makawao wedding
Then….she met John.
John is one of the most incredible people that I’ve had the honour of meeting since moving to Nanton. He’s steadfast, kind, hardworking and community-minded.
When I got the call asking if I would photograph their wedding in Maui, taking place just after Christmas, I couldn’t have answered back quick enough.
Lori and Jamie from Tropical Maui Weddings provided the planning and music. Seriously, a talented duo. The Ka Hale Olinda was the property for the entire day. It was a spectacular ranch with incredible views. Laura’s gown was made by a designer that has had her pieces on none other than Kate Middleton. Jenny Packham-Esme made the dress that Laura wore and it looked incredible. John and Laura’s rings are all from Hawaii… Na Hoku and Koa Wood. The caterer was Aloha Events.
Just every single detail of their day was perfect. I cannot describe how fragrant their florals were, and how delicious the dinner was and how much laughter was present during the dancing. This was a day that I was truly thankful for being present in.
